Guinea–Mali : $25.79M approved for electricity interconnection project

On 14 December 2025, the African Development Fund (ADF) approved $25.79 million to support the electricity interconnection between Guinea and Mali, including a $22M loan and $3.79M grant to Guinea. Building on a previous $41M financing in 2017, the project aims to expand access to reliable and affordable energy with 37,500 new connections, fostering socio-economic development and reducing urban-rural disparities. Cofinanced by the EU, World Bank, EIB, and ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development.
