Senegal and Mauritania have taken a major step by opening the first well of their shared GTA gas field, according to a joint statement on January 1. Developed by BP and Kosmos Energy, the project will produce 2.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas annually. This milestone strengthens their partnership and positions both countries as key players in the regional energy sector.
