Exhibition : Abdoul Seck brings the soul of Africa to the Germaine Revel Foundation
The Germaine Revel Foundation is pleased to host, until May 5, 2025, the works of Abdoul Seck, a Senegalese painter who celebrates the faces, emotions, and stories of his native Africa. A vibrant exhibition, filled with strength, tenderness, and humanity.

Since early April, the Germaine Revel Foundation has been alive with the colors, gazes, and emotions carried by the paintings of Senegalese artist Abdoul Seck. Until May 5, 2025, visitors can explore a powerful selection of artworks where every face seems to tell a story of pride, pain, courage, and hope.
Originally from Senegal, Abdoul Seck has chosen to make the human figure the heart of his work. Through his vibrant portraits, he paints men and women elevated by their uniqueness and inner strength. The lines are sharp, the gazes intense, like open windows into the souls of his subjects. « I paint what I see, what I feel, and what I want to convey from my continent: a strong, dignified beauty, often unknown, » explains the artist.
Among his canvases, children hold a special place. Radiant smiles, dreamy eyes, or gazes carrying silent gravity—Seck’s young models embody the hope and resilience of a moving Africa. Each painting is an invitation to dive into a unique story, blending childhood innocence with daily struggles.
The exhibition also features a series dedicated to ethnic figures: faces marked by time, adorned with traditional jewelry, majestic hairstyles, and dazzling fabrics. Through these portraits, Abdoul Seck celebrates the cultural richness of the African continent in all its diversity. His brush captures details with rare intensity, paying tribute to the roots, traditions, and multiple identities of Africa.
Through my paintings, I want to speak to everyone’s heart, beyond borders, beyond differences
At the Germaine Revel Foundation, the exhibition layout respects the rhythm of the works: subdued lighting, open spaces, and a silence conducive to contemplation.
« It’s an exhibition that leaves no one indifferent, » confides a visitor. « You are captivated by these gazes; you feel the dignity, the joy, and sometimes the pain of these characters. It’s a true encounter. »
For Abdoul Seck, this exhibition is also a way to build bridges between cultures. « Art is a universal language, » he reminds us. « Through my paintings, I want to speak to everyone’s heart, beyond borders, beyond differences. »
By welcoming Abdoul Seck, the Germaine Revel Foundation reaffirms its commitment to promoting emerging talents and offering a platform for artists from around the world. Until May 5, it is Abdoul Seck’s Africa that invites visitors to wonder and reflect.
