Maritime security: G7++ calls for sustainable funding of Yaoundé Architecture

Meeting in Paris on April 15–16, 2026, G7++ members and Yaoundé Architecture states outlined concrete steps to strengthen security in the Gulf of Guinea, according to the French Ministry of Armed Forces. Participants recommended sustainable financing for regional centers, the appointment of national focal points, and improved coordination of training and information sharing, including through maritime centers and the MDAT-GoG system. They also discussed revising the Yaoundé Code of Conduct to clarify responsibilities.
