Ethiopia : Commercial Bank of Ethiopia exceeds $24.5 billion in deposits

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has reached a historic milestone, surpassing 1.4 trillion birr ($24.5 billion) in total deposits, according to its 2017 mid-year financial report. Over six months, it mobilized 245.9 billion birr ($4.3 billion), achieving 147.6% of its targets and representing 58.3% of national deposits. This achievement reinforces CBE’s key role in Ethiopia’s banking sector and economic growth.
