AU: $50M Africa Think Tank Platform launched to strengthen Agenda 2063 policy delivery

On 17 April 2026, the African Union signed grant agreements with 13 African think tanks under the Africa Think Tank Platform, a $50 million initiative funded by the World Bank according to the African Union Commission. Of this amount, $24.2 million will be disbursed in phases to strengthen institutional capacity and produce evidence-based policy solutions. Implemented with AUDA-NEPAD and ACBF, the program aims to support Agenda 2063 implementation across key areas including economic transformation, climate action and digitalization.
