Kenya: deferral of debt service to the Paris Club
Kenya will benefit from a six-month suspension of repayment of $ 300 million of its debt to Paris Club members. This was announced by the Kenyan National Treasury following the favorable ruling by the International Creditors Club on Monday, January 11, 2021. According to a press release from the Minister of Finance, Ukur Yatani, the approach initiated by the country concerns the debt contracted to 10 bilateral partners, and covers the period from January to June 2021.
