Nigeria : all oil and gas revenues now directed to the Federation Account under historic reform

The Nigerian government issued an executive order on 13 February 2026 mandating that all oil and gas revenue be paid directly into the Federation Account, eliminating previous deductions such as management fees and frontier exploration funds previously retained by NNPC Limited, according to official government sources. The reform is intended to increase transparency, curb revenue leakages and strengthen public finances under fiscal pressure. Minister of State for Finance Dr Doris Uzoka‑Anite said it is expected to boost distributable allocations to federal, state and local governments.
