Egypt : nearly 19 million tourists welcomed in 2025, a record year
In 2025, Egypt welcomed nearly 19 million tourists, representing a 21% increase compared to 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. This result far exceeded the global average growth rate of 5% estimated by UN Tourism. Charter flight traffic rose by 32%, with New Alamein posting a 450% surge. Cultural sites attracted 18.6 million visitors, up 33.5%. Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy described 2025 as a milestone year for Egypt’s tourism strategy.
