Egypt : €7bn green hydrogen agreement signed

Egypt has signed a €7bn deal with France’s EDF and UAE-based Zero Waste for a green hydrogen project in Ras Shukeir, near the Gulf of Suez. The facility will produce over one million tonnes of green ammonia annually, mainly for maritime fuel. The consortium will develop a 420 km² wind and solar farm and build a 400m dock for the Red Sea Ports Authority.
