Lesotho: Creation of the Just Energy Transition Fund to attract investments
Lesotho, in partnership with Standard Chartered and Standard Bank Group, has launched the His Majesty King Letsie III Just Energy Transition Fund. This fund aims to attract private and international investments to develop renewable energy, meet national energy needs, and begin exporting surplus power to the region. The first phase focuses on producing 200 MW of clean energy, with excess capacity for export through the Southern Africa Power Pool.
