Chinese President Xi Jinping has pledged to create « at least » one million jobs in Africa, further positioning China as the preferred development partner for the Global South. Speaking at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, he announced 360 billion yuan ($51 billion) in financing for African countries, along with support for 30 infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity across the continent.
