Mobility : Spiro Secures $50M to Scale Battery-Swap Network

African e-mobility company Spiro announced on February 24, 2026 that it has raised $50 million in debt financing from Afreximbank, Nithio, and the Africa Go Green Fund to expand its battery-swapping infrastructure for electric motorcycles across the continent. This funding follows a $100 million raise in October 2025 and will support network expansion, automated battery swaps, fast charging, and renewable energy integration. Spiro operates in several African markets (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Benin, Togo) with over 80,000 electric bikes, 2,500+ swap stations, 30 million swaps completed, and more than 1 billion carbon-free km travelled.
