Regional integration : The AfDB approves a loan for the Labé-Mali-Kédougou interstate road

On November 27, 2024, the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF) approved an $80.93 million loan to finance the construction of the Labé-Mali-Kédougou-Fongolembi interstate road, connecting Senegal and Guinea. This project, supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), and the West African Development Bank (BOAD), aims to improve trade exchanges, connect regional corridors, and boost urban areas, particularly the cities of Labé, Mali, and Kédougou. The construction of 240.71 km of road and 150 km of rural tracks will improve accessibility and goods circulation.
