Botswana : K-water signs water management agreement to tackle water crisis

K-water, the Korea Water Resources Corp., signed a significant contract on Friday with Botswana’s Ministry of Lands and Water Affairs to build and manage a water management system for the Limpopo River. The three-year project, valued at 22.7 billion won ($15.7 million), aims to improve water security in Botswana, where chronic droughts and climate change have exacerbated water shortages. The system will include real-time monitoring and remote sensing technology. This collaboration follows years of cooperation between K-water and Botswana, and marks K-water’s first project of this scale in Africa.
