Africa’s Power and Energy Transition Investment Report : $13.84 B Invested in Energy Transition in 2025

According to the Africa’s Power and Energy Transition Investment Report 2025 released on February 17, 2026 by Electron Intelligence, Africa attracted $13.84 billion in energy transition investment in 2025 across 306 deals in 43 countries with 142 unique investors. Clean energy projects dominated with $13.61 billion (98.3%), including $8.14 billion in generation, $2.40 billion in sector reforms, and $1.55 billion in grid investment. The African Development Bank led investment with $1.77 billion. Top markets included South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria and Morocco.
