Uganda : to build a new international stadium for 2027 African Cup of Nations

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has announced plans to build a new international stadium for the east African country to host 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) football matches.

Uganda has already two stadiums, Namboole and Nakivubo in the capital, Kampala that are close to the Entebbe International Airport.

In June, 2023, CAF awarded the joint bid of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda the hosting rights of the 2027 AFCON finals.
