Tunisia : tourism revenues and diaspora remittances on the rise

According to the latest monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), tourism receipts in Tunisia recorded significant growth of 28.97%. They rose from 5.16 billion dinars to 6.66 billion dinars up to December 10, 2023, compared with the same period the previous year.

In the same context, income from diaspora transfers, also known as accumulated labor income, rose by 2.41%. They reached 7.09 billion dinars on December 10, 2023, compared with 6.92 billion dinars a year earlier.

Combined revenues from tourism and Tunisians residing abroad (TRE) reached a total of 13.75 billion dinars on December 10, 2023.

From the start of the year to September 10, Tunisia welcomed 6.5 million visitors, a significant 60% increase on the same period last year.
