Morocco : Masen disclosed pre-qualified consortiums for Noor Midelt III

The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) disclosed the pre-qualified consortiums and companies selected for the next phase of the Noor Midelt III solar project.

Launched in the summer of 2023, the selection process is aimed at identifying the private partner responsible for designing, financing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the third power plant within the Noor Midelt solar complex, named “Noor Midelt III.”

The upcoming Noor Midelt III solar power plant is projected to boast an installed photovoltaic capacity of approximately 400 MW, complemented by a battery storage capacity of about 400 MWh using Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The pre-qualified entities for the Noor Midelt III Project include:

  • Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar (United Arab Emirates) / TAQA MOROCCO S.A (Morocco)
  • Acciona Generacion Renovable S.A. (Spain) / Green Of Africa (Morocco)
  • ACWA Power Company (Saudi Arabia) / NAREVA Holding (Morocco)
  • Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A (Spain) / VINCI CONCESSIONS S.A.S (France)
  • EDF Renouvelables S.A. (France) / Mitsui & Co., Ltd (Japan)
  • Iberdrola Renovables Internacional S.A.U (Spain)
  • Kahrabel FZE (United Arab Emirates) / GDF International S.A (France)
  • SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd (China) / AMEA Power, Ltd (United Arab Emirates)
