Electrification : World Bank and AfDB targeting 300 million people in Africa

The World Bank teams up with the African Development Bank to electrify 300 million Africans by 2030. This partnership aims to connect 250 million people through renewable energy systems or distribution networks, with AfDB supporting an additional 50 million. The goal is to overcome barriers in healthcare, education, and productivity. An investment of $30 billion, primarily through IDA, will be needed to achieve this target. Governments will also need to reform public services to attract private investment and ensure fair pricing.
