CHAN 2024 : Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania Considered to Host the Tournament

The CAF confirmed the postponement of CHAN 2024 due to the absence of a host country. East Africa, particularly Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, is now being considered to host the event, although specific dates are yet to be determined.

Despite the earlier announcement that the 2023 edition in Algeria would be the last, the success prompted the CAF to give local players another opportunity. Patrice Motsepe, CAF president, recently stated that the joint bid from the « Kenya-Uganda-Tanzania » trio has been selected. He is optimistic about the success of this edition, highlighting the exceptional players in these countries. The exact dates for the event are still to be defined.
