World food prices down 13.7% in 2023, says FAO

Despite a slight rise in cereal prices in December, the world price index ended last year around 10% below its level of the previous year, the FAO said, noting that world food prices fell by 13.7% in 2023 compared to the previous year, with a marked decline for vegetable oils and cereals.
