UEMOA 25th anniversary celebrated in Ouagadougou on January 10th
The 25th anniversary of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) was celebrated on January 10th, 2019 in Ouagadougou, the sub-regional institution’s headquarters.
On this occasion, a solemn ceremony under the presidency of Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic of Ivory Coast, President of the Conference of UEMOA’s heads of governments, and Roch Marc Christian KABORE , President of Faso. It was held at Ouaga International Conference Center.
Placed under the theme « 25 years of progress towards regional integration, together to meet the challenge of the free movement of people and goods », it brought together the members of the Council of Ministers, the Presidents of the Institutions and members of Representatives of inter-African and international organizations, as well as WAEMU staff.
