SADC agreements signed to operationalise regional fund targeting over $100 billion annual infrastructure gap

President Duma Boko has signed key SADC agreements to operationalise the Regional Development Fund (RDF) and amend the Finance and Investment Protocol. Established in 2016, the RDF aims to mobilise funding for infrastructure and industrialisation in a region facing an annual financing gap exceeding $100 billion, according to the SADC Secretariat. Botswana becomes the 10th signatory, while implementation will depend on capital mobilisation and member state ratifications.
