Tunisia : state budget for 2024 increases by 9.3

In value terms, the budget will amount to 77,868 million dinars (24,973 million USD).

According to the budget bill, the State budget’s own resources will rise by 8.4% to 49,160 million dinars (15,766 million USD), equivalent to 63.1% of total resources for fiscal 2024.

On the other hand, Tunisian government debt will represent 79.81% of the country’s GDP by the end of 2024, compared with 80.20% in 2023 and 79.83% in 2022.

In value terms, Tunisian debts should reach 139.9 billion dinars (44.8 billion USD) by the end of 2024, compared with 127.1 billion dinars (40.7 billion USD) forecast for the whole of 2023.

As for hydrocarbon and electricity compensation, the 2024 budget sets aside around seven billion dinars (2.2 billion USD).

A total of 2.6 billion dinars (833 million USD) will be allocated to the cereals subsidy, equivalent to more than a third of commodity subsidy expenditure.
