Tunisia : European Union releases €150 million in financial aid
The European Union (EU) has released a crucial €150 million in financial aid to Tunisia, the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Commission announced on December 20.
The funding is intended to « support Tunisia’s efforts » « to boost the economy by improving public finance management and the business and investment climate », according to a press release.
This aid had been agreed when an agreement in principle was signed on July 16 in Tunis for a new « partnership » between the EU and the North African country, which also included a major component to combat irregular immigration.
