Rwanda : government approves $4.8 billion for 2025/2026 budget

On X, the Rwandan Prime Minister’s Office revealed that on Monday, June 9, 2025, the government approved the draft 2025/2026 budget, which amounts to more than 7,000 billion Rwandan francs (around $4.8 billion). This budget is 21% higher than the previous year’s revised budget. It focuses on investments in major projects, such as the construction of the new Kigali International Airport and the expansion of RwandAir. The budget will also finance priority projects in industrialization, increasing agricultural productivity, promoting decent housing, expanding access to electricity, improving access to drinking water, strengthening the transport system, and modernizing education and health.
