Namibia : new national airline set to launch

Namibia is set to establish a new national airline, opting not to revive the defunct Air Namibia, which was liquidated in March 2021 after receiving NAD8 billion (USD453 million) in state bailouts. Backed by Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the government has allocated NAD20 million (USD1.13 million) for a feasibility study. The initiative aims to create a sustainable airline, enhance regional and international connectivity, and support economic development. An official launch date is expected within the next two months.
