Kenya’s Pesalink partnered on 26 February 2026 with PAPSS, an Afreximbank initiative with the African Union and AfCFTA Secretariat, to enable 24/7 local-currency cross-border payments. Over 80 Kenyan institutions will connect to 160+ PAPSS banks. World Bank 2023 data show African remittance costs average 7–8%, above the global 6–7%.
