Insurance: $15 million from African Risk Capacity to WFP for climate victims in Burkina, Gambia and Mali

The World Food Program said in a  statement on February 15 it has received US$15.4 million worth of insurance payouts from African Risk Capacity (ARC) Limited, a specialized agency of the African Union.

The funds will be used to provide cash transfer and nutritional support to food-insecure people affected by climate-induced negative impacts from March to May 2023.

$8 million will go to Mali, $7.2 million to Burkina Faso and $187,600 to Gambia.
