Gabon: Solders announce « National Council for the Restoration of Democracy »
Early in the morning, on January 7th , three soldiers announced on Radio Gabonese Television (RTG), the formation of a « National Council for the restoration of democracy » in Gabon. An announcement followed by gunshots near the RTG, on Triomphal Boulevard, in the center of Libreville.
Gabonese authority is undergoing a major crisis since the absence of President Ali Bongo Ondimba in convalescence after a stroke two months ago.
