The President of the Republic reiterated his firm condemnation of the attempts by armed groups and certain political leaders, including François Bozize, to undermine the peace agreements and the constitutional electoral process supported by the international community. He condemned the false speeches intended to harm the Franco-Central African relationship. The President of the Republic took note of the provisional results of the first round of the Central African presidential and legislative elections, made public by the National Election Authority on January 4 and 5. He called for respect for future decisions of the Constitutional Court, while stressing the need for an open and inclusive political dialogue. The President of the Republic and President TOUADERA renewed their support for the elements of the United Nations mission, MINUSCA, responsible for contributing to the protection of civilians, the electoral process and the stabilization of the country, alongside the security forces Central African women. They condemned attacks on humanitarian workers and called for respect for international humanitarian law and humanitarian access. At the request of President TOUADERA, and in agreement with MINUSCA, the President of the Republic ordered a second overflight mission over the Central African territory by fighter planes, after the one carried out on 23 December. This mission took place that very day. It marks France’s solidarity with the Central African people and its condemnation of the continued attempts to destabilize the country carried out by armed groups.
