On February 18 2026, the board of the African Development Bank Group approved a 309.93 million € loan (about 335 million USD) to Cameroon for the first phase of the Cross-Border Economic Basins Connectivity Program (PDCBET). According to the African Development Bank Group, the funding will finance the paving of a 156 km road section between Ngoura II and Yokadouma, part of a corridor linking eastern Cameroon to the Republic of the Congo. The project is expected to create at least 2,500 jobs and improve trade access in a region where paved roads represent about 6.25% of the network.
