Burkina Faso has approved a bill recognizing the legal status of traditional and customary chiefs, reinforcing their role in conflict resolution and local development. Introduced by Minister Émile Zerbo, the law will now be reviewed by the Transitional Legislative Assembly before ratification by Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
