On October 7, Botswana unveiled its first batch of locally assembled electric vehicles in Gaborone, thanks to a partnership with two Chinese companies. Skywell and CHTC Kinwin are collaborating with the Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) to produce SUVs and electric buses. President Mokgweetsi Masisi praised this initiative, which represents a significant step towards e-mobility and the use of renewable energy in the country.
