Algeria secures $110 million in assets from Switzerland after 20 approved legal requests, highlighting international cooperation and governance efforts.

Algeria has begun recovering more than 110 million dollars in misappropriated assets from Switzerland following judicial cooperation in 2026. Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf told a Council of Ministers meeting that 33 legal requests were sent to Swiss authorities, with 20 approved, enabling resolution of four frozen asset cases. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune also acknowledged Spain’s support. However, 61 similar requests sent to France remain unanswered, according to official Algerian government data.
