You’ve heard of Dubai, but have you heard of Sharjah? If not, you’ll soon be hearing about it. A gigantic photo exhibition, a film festival, a free zone dedicated to the media… The tourist city will soon be overshadowing Dubai. At least, that’s the ambition of the United Arab Emirates, which is stepping up initiatives to raise its international profile beyond Dubai on every level: tourism, geopolitics, economics and culture.
