Egypt ExxonMobil enters oil exploration
ExxonMobil announced Monday, December 30, that it will launch seismic data acquisition operations in 2020 in two oil blocks with an overall area of approximately 7,054 km2 newly acquired in Egypt. According to the press release published by ExxonMobil announcing the acquisition of a new area for exploration at sea, the Egyptian government has allocated to the American oil group the blocks North Marakia Offshore (4,856.2 km2) and North East El Amriya Offshore (2,197 , 44 km2). ExxonMobil has a 100% stake in these two blocks located in the eastern Mediterranean.
