Transport : Tsamiya-Kamba corridor reopens between Benin, Niger and Nigeria

Closed since 2019, the strategic Tsamiya-Kamba corridor reopened on February 9, 2026, following authorization by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu to ease trade restrictions while safeguarding national security. A vital route linking Cotonou Port to Niamey, the reopening will free nearly 2,000 trucks stranded on the Benin side, easing supply pressures ahead of Ramadan. Transit resumption is also expected to revive Nigerian agricultural exports and boost customs revenues for Nigeria.
