Algeria : launch of the Alsat-3B satellite

Algeria successfully launched the*remote sensing satellite Alsat-3B on January 31, 2026, from China’s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center aboard a Long March 2C rocket, marking its second launch in two weeks after Alsat-3A on January 15, 2026, under a cooperation agreement with China Great Wall Industry Corporation and the Algerian Space Agency. 

The twin satellites will deliver data for land planning and disaster monitoring, strengthening Algeria’s space surveillance capabilities.
