Zimbabwe : official bid to join BRICS for economic growth and stability

On March 9, Zimbabwe officially submitted its bid to join the BRICS group, a major economic bloc that represents 40% of the global GDP and 51% of the world’s population. The announcement was made by Zimbabwe’s Foreign Minister Amon Murwira alongside Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow. Zimbabwe aims to access investment, emerging markets, and diplomatic support while seeking to diversify its economic alliances amid ongoing Western sanctions.
