On May 27, 2025, Zimbabwe Police announced the deployment of drones in Harare’s Central Business District to monitor traffic violations. Integrated into the Electronic Traffic Management System (ETMS), drones will supplement existing cameras and cover a 20 km radius to combat congestion and illegal taxis. The project budget exceeds $2 million.
