West Africa : the Bceao will buy back $1.5 billion in securities from WAEMU states
The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) is considering a repurchase of UEMOA sovereign securities amounting to 933 billion FCFA ($1.5 billion). This announcement comes a few months after a similar operation in June where more than 1,000 billion FCFA of securities were repurchased.
This repurchase should take place between September 25 and 26 and will be combined with the issuance of new securities by each UEMOA member state. These are securities with an initial maturity of 12 months, 3 years and 5 years, but with a residual duration of between 3 months and 3 years.
