West Africa : Second submarine cable to boost connectivity

On July 21, 2025, Liberia launched the “Second Submarine Cable Project” with ECOWAS and the World Bank. The plan will connect Liberia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Sierra Leone via a new fiber optic cable, supplementing the ACE network. A feasibility study by TACTIS (for PPDU) confirms Buchanan as Liberia’s landing site.
