In an attempt to counter the Russian and Chinese advance, the United States unveiled a new strategy for sub-Saharan Africa on September 5. For the next five years, the country announces to offer « democratic and security dividends »; to work on the reacovery from the Covid 19 pandemic and on economic opportunities but also to support a fair energy transition. A U.S.-Africa summit is scheduled for December 13 in Washington.
