United States–Africa : strategic investment task force launched
The United States and the African Union Commission (AUC) have announced the creation of a Strategic Investment Working Group to channel U.S. capital toward Africa’s fastest-growing markets. Launched by Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and Christopher Landau, the initiative prioritizes infrastructure, digital economy and green energy, in line with Agenda 2063 and the AfCFTA.
U.S. imports from Africa rose by 24% in the first half of 2025, reaching $23.4bn, highlighting deepening economic ties.
