African Union Kagame elected president of the AU Development Agency (NEPAD)

Rwandan President Paul Kagame was unanimously elected as the new president of the African Union Development, Chiefs Policy Committee New Partnership for Africa’s Development State and Governmental Organization . The election was held at the AUDA-NEPAD Presidential Infrastructure Initiative Luncheon convened by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa prior to the African Union summit.

Kagame replaces Senegalese President Macky Sall, whose term of office was focused on the leadership of the implementation of NEPAD programmes and projects by the leadership and guidance. He is elected for a term covering the period from 2020 to 2022.
