UNESCO : Two new African sites inscribed as World Heritage
UNESCO has proudly inscribed two African landmarks on its World Heritage List: Ichkeul National Park (Tunisia) and the Mapungubwe Cultural Landscape (South Africa).
Ichkeul is acclaimed for its rich biodiversity and importance as a wintering site for migratory waterbirds, while Mapungubwe reflects the legacy of an ancient, prosperous African kingdom.
