UN : only massive funding can save SDGs

In its 2024 report on sustainable development financing, the UN emphasizes the urgent need for international financial reform to achieve the SDGs. High debt burdens and borrowing costs hinder developing countries. Funding needs are estimated at $4.2 trillion annually. Without immediate action, progress in health and education will be compromised. Current financing commitments are not met, necessitating a rethink of the international financial system to address crises. The report calls for concerted action at the UN Summit in September 2024.
