UN : global growth expected to remain stable at 2.8% in 2025

In a global context recovering from years of economic shocks, a UN report forecasts global growth of 2.8% for 2025, unchanged from 2024. This stability is attributed to efforts to control inflation, ease monetary policies, and revive international trade. Li Junhua, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic Affairs, emphasized that the global economy has avoided a widespread recession despite ongoing economic tensions. However, regional disparities persist: growth is expected to slow in the United States (1.9%) and Europe (1.3%), while Asia and Africa are projected to experience stronger growth at 4.7% and 3.7%, respectively.
